FOCUS GROUP MEETING
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
Mayor Gilman expressed appreciation to the six citizens for attending this Neighborhood Focus Group meeting and asked Mr. Williams to inform the citizens on the progress of the City.
Mr. Gilbert asked if the City was going to be doing any work on Owl Creek. He also mentioned that there used to be signs that read "No Dumping" along the creek and asked if new signs could be put up.
Mr. Williams stated that the homeowners in the area of Owl Creek are sent letters alerting them to the advisability of purchasing flood insurance. At this time it is cost prohibitive to do any work in the area.
Mayor Gilman informed the group that Don Hill, Service Director, walks the creek several times a year to check for debris.
Ms. Heiser stated that vehicles are running over the curb on the corner of Burns Avenue and Catherine Avenue. She also mentioned it is difficult to see oncoming traffic because a large bush sits on this same corner.
Mr. Ginn stated that the RTA buses are traveling too fast up and down his street.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert expressed the same concerns and added that their home rattles when the buses go by.
Ms. Heiser mentioned that she would like to receive information on tornado preparedness and safety.
Mr. Gauldin mentioned that residents in his neighborhood did not want sewer service provided by Montgomery County and asked what the City could do to help.
Mayor Gilman thanked everyone for attending this Focus Group meeting and expressed appreciation for their comments. She further added that if the City could ever be of assistance in any way to please contact us.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:05 p.m.
